When will be 10 billion and what will happen to the Earth! It's official: 7.2 billion people live today
The United Nations has released the latest predictions on world population. United estimated 7.2 billion people living today, the world's population will increase to 8.1 billion by 2025 the majority of the growth will take place in developing countries, mainly in Africa. UN experts estimate that Earth 2050 9.6 billion people will live. 2100 are expected to live on Earth nearly 11 billion people, with 800 million more than estimates released in 2011.
India's population will exceed that number by that of China around the year 2028, when both countries will have about 1.45 billion people. If experts estimate that India's population will rise to the threshold of about 1.6 billion people, will then slowly decrease to 1.5 billion people by 2100, China will begin to decline after 2030, reaching 1 , 1 billion in 2100.
UN experts say Nigeria's population will exceed that of the U.S. by mid-century, where it is estimated that the U.S. will live 400.8 million people to 440.3 million people in Nigeria.
"By the end of this century Nigeria could compete with China for second place in the ranking of the largest populous countries," reads the UN report, which estimated that Nigeria would have 913.8
million people in 2100
At its founding, the UN had 51 member states; there are now 193. From its offices around the world, the UN and its specialized agencies decide on substantive and administrative issues in regular meetings held throughout the year. The organization has six principal organs: the General Assembly (the main deliberative assembly); the Security Council (for deciding certain resolutions for peace and security); the Economic and Social Council (for assisting in promoting international economic and social cooperation and development); the Secretariat (for providing studies, information, and facilities needed by the UN); the International Court of Justice (the primary judicial organ); and the United Nations Trusteeship Council (which is currently inactive). Other prominent UN System agencies include the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Food Programme (WFP) and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The UN's most prominent position is that of the office of Secretary-General which has been held by Ban Ki-moon of South Korea since 2007.
The United Nations Headquarters resides in international territory in New York City, with further main offices at Geneva, Nairobi, and Vienna. The organization is financed from assessed and voluntary contributions from its member states, and has six official languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish.
