James Gandolfini died of heart attack on vacation in Rome

James Gandolfini is gone suddenly at age 51 while on vacation in Rome. Fatal to the American actor would have been a heart attack. The news of the death of the actor and film producer was given by U.S. websites TMZ and confirmed by Variety and HBO, the popular American cable TV station producer of 'The Sopranos'.


His life intertwined until the last hand in glove with Italy. Born in New Jersey to Italian-American parents, had conquered a huge success performing boss Tony, "depressed godfather" of the TV series on the Italian-American Mafia, which between 1999 and 2007 had great success in the United States and beyond. For his role has won three Emmy Awards among others and as many Golden Globe for best actor.


After the end of the popular TV series in 2007, Gandolfini starred in "Zero Dark Thirty" by Kathryn Bigelow (2012), the film which tells the hunt for al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden, and "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" by Don Scardino (2013, not published in Italy). The actor was now working on a new HBO series entitled "Criminal Justice".
